Cologne has a lively theatre scene, but the vast majority of productions are, alas for foreigners, in German. Venues such as the Studiobühne Köln regularly host international and foreign language events so check the listings and you may be lucky enough to find something you can understand. Alternatively, you can just go and try to soak up the atmosphere or to practice your German but prepared to be the only one who isn't laughing when the jokes come around.Universitätsstrasse 16A
